Maida 1 cup
Wheat flour 1 cup(trying to be healthy n all)
Sugar 1/3RD cup
Salt a pinch
Cinnamon 1 tsp
This is gonna sound weird but 1 tsp garam masala if you don't have all spice which during lockdown is hard to find
Vanilla essence 1 tsp
Unsalted butter abt 50 gm plus 3 tbsp oil
Warm milk 1/2 cup
Ferment yeast by putting 2-3 tsp dry yeast in a glass with 3-4tdsp milk and 2 tsp sugar and let it ferment n get bubbly for 5 mins aside.
Mix all the wet ingredients n yeast mix into the dry ingredients and knead. If its a bit wet add more flour.
Knead well till the dough comes together. Allow to rest and prove(rise) for like an hr( I had to keep it for 2 hrs because its cold in Bangalore. Then take it out of the bowl, punch out the air and knead into small balls of 8 to 10 (for this quantity)
Allow it to rest again under cling film and rise then rub an egg wash on the surface and make the cross.
For the cross just mix some Maida in warm. Water to get a thick paste to pipe a cross over d buns and the egg was is made with one egg and equal amount of milk.
Bake at 175 degree Celsius for 25 to 30 mins.
When you take it out of the oven glaze with some butter mixed with some brown sugar for that extra sweet sticky feel!! Or just brush some salted butter too if you like!
